A Beautiful Delray Beach Family Session On The Beach.
There is something about photographing a family at the beach that never gets old. The soft light, the breeze, the little moments in between the posed photographs, it all comes together in a way that feels natural and timeless.
This beautiful family came to me from Boca Raton for a beach family photography session in Delray Beach. We had to reschedule their original date, but I’m so glad we eventually found the right afternoon because their session turned out to be one of those that just felt easy from the very beginning.
They were new clients, but we clicked almost immediately. The girls were absolutely adorable, and the whole family had such a sweet connection. Once we started photographing, everything just fell into place.
A Boca Raton Family Choosing Delray Beach for Their Session
Although they live in Boca Raton, they decided to have their family session at one of my favorite beach locations in Delray Beach.
I always love when families are open to choosing a location based on the overall feel we want for their photographs. For my beach sessions, I’m looking for soft, beautiful light, a natural setting, and enough space for the family to move around and interact rather than simply standing and looking at the camera.
That combination allows us to create a gallery with a little bit of everything, beautiful family portraits, individual photographs of the children, photographs of parents together, and all those little in-between moments that end up being some of my favorites.
And these girls gave us plenty of those moments.
Natural, Timeless Family Photography in Delray Beach
My approach to family photography is relaxed and natural. I will absolutely guide you through posing when needed, but I don't want your gallery to feel like a collection of perfectly posed photographs.
I want there to be movement, connection, laughter, and those little expressions that remind you exactly what your children were like at this age.
The beach is especially perfect for this kind of photography. There is room to walk, play, cuddle, explore, and simply be together. I can step in and guide things when necessary while still allowing the family to interact naturally.
This is also why I schedule my outdoor family sessions in the late afternoon, about an hour before sunset. The light becomes softer and warmer as the sun gets lower, creating that beautiful, airy look that is such an important part of my style.
When the Gallery Becomes More Than Just Digital Photos
After their session, this family chose their favorite images from the gallery, and they loved them so much that they decided to upgrade their collection to The Story Teller.
And this is where their session became something even more special.
Together, we designed a beautiful lay-flat album using their favorite photographs from the session. I love this part of the process because we can take all those individual images and turn them into something that tells the story of their family as a whole.
The finished book was absolutely gorgeous.
There is something different about holding your photographs in your hands rather than having them live only on a computer or phone. A beautiful album becomes part of your home and, years from now, something your children can actually pull off a shelf and look through.
