A Surprise Engagement Session in Delray Beach, Florida

December in South Florida doesn’t exactly feel like winter, but it is one of the nicest times of year to slow down and be outside, which made it a perfect backdrop for this engagement session in Delray Beach.

Jack reached out to me a while back with an exciting plan. He was getting ready to propose and wanted to surprise his girlfriend with an engagement session right after. Those messages never get old, and I was all in from the start.

Although they don’t live full-time in Delray Beach, their family has a place here, which made choosing this location extra meaningful. Delray has a relaxed, familiar feel that works beautifully for engagement sessions, especially when you want something natural and personal.

Earlier that day, we had rain (classic Florida). But just in time for our session, the rain stopped, the light softened, and everything came together perfectly.

They were so easy to photograph calm, happy, and still soaking in the excitement of the proposal. The session felt effortless, with lots of genuine moments, laughter, and quiet connection. Exactly how engagement photos should feel.
